Destiny Ghost and Limited Editions are seriously limited on the ground, but one retailer is still working hard to ensure customers get what they ordered.
Destiny’s two special editions have been largely sold out since a few days after announce, and we’ve seen successive waves of pre-order cancellations from oversold retailers. Less than a week from launch, and with Destiny shipping notifications going out, you’d expect retailers to have a handle on inventory, but it looks like that’s not the case.
Reddit user betrion posted an email screen cap dated September 3, showing GameStop apologizing for being unable to supply a Ghost Edition on PS4. However, the retailer had a pretty good solution – it’s posting a Ghost Edition on PS3, so the user gets all the extra content and goodies it contains, and a standard edition on PS4, so they can play on their platform of choice. Nice!
Sadly, Reddit user ConnorBig said he was contacted by EB Games (part of the GameStop family; the name is still used in Australia, New Zealand and Spain) and told that he would be supplied with a Limited Edition rather than a Ghost Edition.
Destiny launches next Tuesday.
