Don’t let the puppy fool you — there’s a little edge to Dessert. Proving that elements of trap can include adding a banjo, Dessert leaves the gate swinging with “Player”, a song that has dark synths and horn parts to spare. The track drives forward, the music blasting through vocals that are just sweet enough to add the element of juxtaposition, taking the track to new levels. We don’t know very much about Dessert – they seem to be going the “we’re mysterious” route that’s so en vogue. With a debut track this captivating, though, who cares. Check out “Player” above, and get ready to wish you had better speakers.
