Design Inspiration: Light-filled Entryways

By Simone Design Blog @HomeSpire

With spring approaching, I’m in the mood for some warm sunny days. I’m looking forward to seeing daffodils and tulips outside in my garden. I’m also looking forward to smelling the aromas from my lavender and jasmine shrubs. I already see the daffodils springing up–they’re ready for spring too! I just love watching my garden grow and blossom for the season. It’s a sign of new life. I feel like a mother watching her children grow. I love to nourish my plants and make sure that there’s nothing around (e.g. weeds) that will hinder their beauty.

I feel the same way when it comes to the interior of my home. As spring approaches, I want to add color, airy fabrics and floral arrangements throughout. At present, we’re having some minor renovations done around the house, and they’re going to be completed just in time for spring. Last fall we updated our interior doors and now we’re having recessed lighting installed. All these lovely updates have inspired me to research how to do spring makeovers of some of our rooms, starting with the entryway. It’s small, but with the recent installation of a mirrored hallway closet door and new lights, it’s bright and cheerful and I want to take advantage of that. For me, a welcoming entryway helps set the tone of the house. Here, let me show you some ideas on how to put spring into your home’s entryway.

All these entryways are so light, bright and colorful. Just what I want for my home in the spring! I’ve seen quite a few inspirational ideas in each of these pictures. I hope you will as well.
