There are at least two opportunities to catch a performance of True Blood’s Russell Edgington, Denis O’Hare this week.  First, he will guest star on  FOX’s “The Rake”and his film, “Dallas Buyer’s Club” has been released on DVD, Blu-Ray and Amazon Instant Video.

THE RAKE

Denis will appear on “The Rake” as Graham Murray an economic advisor. The synopsis for the show reads as follows:

Reeling from the death of his father, Ben asks Keegan to take over the case of Graham Murray (guest star Denis O’Hare), the mayor’s top economic advisor who is accused of murdering and eating the remains of a young accountant. Although Ben thinks this will never go to trial, Keegan is determined to prove Murray’s innocence, after he finds out interesting details surrounding the alleged victim’s death. Meanwhile, Keegan has legal troubles of his own and Mikki makes a decision about her career in the all-new “Cannibal” episode of RAKE airing Thursday, Feb. 13 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

DALLAS BUYERS CLUB
Next, you can see Denis in his part as Dr. Sevard in the 2014 Academy Award nominee for best picture, best actor and best supporting actor in “Dallas Buyer’s Club.” The film has just been released on DVD and Blu-Ray and can also be seen streaming on Amazon.  Click on the links below to choose your medium.

Focus Featured describes Denis in his part:

Denis O’Hare, who moves with remarkable grace between stage, screen and TV, has shown up in five different Focus Features films in roles as diverse the actor himself. Most recently he appeared as Dr. Sevard, the stubborn, some might say arrogant, doctor, directing the AZT trials that Ron Woodroof (Matthew McConaughey) originally signs up for, and then rejects. In some ways, O’Hare plays against type here. Rather than HIV being a clinical issue, the AIDS epidemic has been all too personal for O’Hare, who lost a lover in 2000 to the disease. But O’Hare finds a truth in the character, especially one that reflects the frightening historical period which DALLAS BUYERS CLUB chronicles.

If you haven’t seen, Dallas Buyers Club, you’re in for a treat, Denis is great in the film just like the main characters. Buy it or rent it at Amazon below.
