Dems Doubting The Future Of Their Party Rises By 18 Points

These charts are from a recent survey by the Pew Research Center. It was done between November 29th and December 12th of a random national sample of 4,183 adults, and has a margin of error of 2.7 points The margin of error for Democrats is 3.7 points and for Republicans is 4.1 points.
It shows that the feelings of Republicans and Democrats about the future of their parties has flipped since the election. Before the election, only 61% of Republicans fell good about the future of their party, but that has now climbed to 77%. It is just the opposite for Democrats. Before the election, about 79% felt good about their party's future. That has now dropped to only 61%.
I can understand that Democrats would be upset over the outcome of the election. I am also. But I cannot side with those who are pessimistic about the future of the Democratic Party. In fact, I believe the future for Democrats is brighter than that for Republicans.
Remember, the Democratic candidate for president got 2.8 million more votes than the Republican candidate in the 2016 election. And the groups that tend to vote for Democrats (people under 45, Blacks, Hispanics, Asians) are going to continue to grow into a larger percentage of the electorate -- while the groups tending to vote Republican (those over 45 and Whites) will continue to shrink as a percentage of the electorate.
Democrats are justified in being angry, frustrated, or even depressed, but they need to fight through that and then get busy -- because the future actually favors the Democratic Party.
