When truth is stranger than fiction, we know we have a problem in Washington DC.
Reps. Donna Edwards (D-Md.) and Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas) are the two brainchildren of the bill, which shows the "purpose" of the proposal--- "As commercial enterprises and foreign nations acquire the ability to land on the Moon, it is necessary to protect the Apollo lunar landing sites for posterity."
The measure proposes the Department of the Interior and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) joinly run the park and that donations from companies and foreign governments be accepted to help "provide visitor services and administrative facilities within reasonable proximity to the Historical Park."
I kid you not.
