Happy Weekend!
Chai Latte Recipe ------------------------------------------------------------ Serves 2 You can also use almond milk, soy milk or rice milk instead of regular milk. It can be served warm as a hot latte or cold as an iced chai latte. And if you like to spice up a little this chai you could add a whole peppercorn too. 1 Tea Bag {Regular tea / Black tea} {I used decaf. Regular tea} 2 Cinnamon Sticks, 4 Green Cardamon pods 2 Whole Cloves 1/2 Vanilla Bean 1 Piece of Fresh Ginger {about 2 cm long and 1 cm thick} 2 1/4 C. Water
1 C. Milk Sugar or Honey, to taste
Preparation: In a pot add the water. Set aside. 1-Open tea bag, cut it open and empty the content into the water. 2-Take the cinnamon sticks and break into smaller pieces {by doing this, cinnamon flavor and aroma will enhance}. 3-Then lightly smash the green cardamons. 4-Peel ginger and cut in half. 5-Scrape seeds out of the vanilla bean.{Keep the bean} 6-Keep cloves whole. After that, put all the spices in the water. Bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 8-10 minutes. When ready, {and using a fine strainer} strain into cups. In a separate pot add the milk, bring to a boil.Remove from heat and pour over the chai. Sweeten as desired.
