Delhi Violence: PFI President Parvez and Secretary Ilyas Arrested

The Special Cell of Police investigating the Delhi violence cases has arrested President Pervez and Secretary Ilyas of the Popular Front of India (PFI).

They are accused of inciting Delhi violence. Both are being questioned. This inquiry is also being done regarding funding.

Earlier, special cell of Delhi Police arrested Danish member of PFI. He was arrested for allegedly carrying out propaganda during CAA protests.

The Delhi Police Special Cell had said that Danish is the head of the counter intelligence wing of the PFI and has been actively participating in anti-CAA protests across the city.

The Special Cell of the Delhi Police arrested a Kashmiri couple from Okhla on Sunday on charges of alleged links with the Islamic State (IS) Khorasan module.

The couple has been identified as Jahanzeb Sami (husband) and Hina Bashir Baig (wife). Police have seized some objectionable material from them and they are being questioned.

The PFI is accused of inciting and funding people during the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) demonstration.

Earlier responding to the discussion in the Lok Sabha on the riots in Delhi, the Union Home Minister said that the police did not allow the riots to spread in Delhi.

According to Home Minister Shah, the police did the work of confining this violence to four percent and 13 percent of the population of Delhi. Violence stopped at 12 police stations due to police vigilance.
