Delayed 2016 Goals

By Jessicavenoy @lovelyjesscuh
Hey y'all! I know it's been a bit quiet around these parts - I've been 1. enjoying a little bit of time off of school and 2. trying to bust out 2 new e-book workout programs before I go back to school on January 11 (: BUT I'm here now because what kind of blogger would I be if I didn't set goals for 2016...? I know I'm a few days late but hey it's fine. Okay so GOALS:
  • Declutter our house.
Adam and I want to buy a house within the next 2ish years (we're waiting to see where I get into grad school come 2017 before we plant our roots permanently). I feel like if I start slowly decluttering the house (I'm thinking one room a month) that come moving time, life will be so much easier. Plus who likes clutter? Not me. I started this one already and got my office decluttered this week:

  • Read at least one non-school related book per month.
I think this one will be easy for me, but I still want to make a point to keep it in the post to hold myself accountable for it. I'm reading my January book now: You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life. I'll let y'all know how it is once I finish it.
  • Get straight A's in school.
In August I went back to school. I have one bachelor's degree, but I'm back for another one before I go on to get my master's. I'm pursing speech-language pathology, in case you were wondering (: I start my core speech classes in January (I got all of my pre-reqs out of the way in the fall) so I'm determined to get all A's to bring up my GPA.
  • Put away X dollars in our savings account.
Adam and I discussed a set amount of money that we want to add to our savings account over the next 12 months. We got a lot more serious about our finances toward the end of 2015 so it's nice to have some real financial goals. I guess this means that I won't be going on my weekly online shopping sprees anymore...#adulting
  • Practice balance, patience, and love regularly.
Being in school full time, working 2 jobs, and being a wife makes it hard for me to achieve balance sometimes. This year I want to focus on not spreading myself too thin and actually properly balancing everything to the best of my ability. I'm not the most patient person on the planet, but I have gotten much better over the last few months. I'm trying really hard to tune in to others' emotions and feelings and just be more sympathetic and loving toward others.
So now that my goals are on the internet I guess I have to uphold them, right? (; Do you have any goals and aspirations for 2016? Do tell!
xo, Jess
