Deionized water, is water that has had its mineral ions removed. It is frequently used in cosmetic applications where a carrier fluid is needed, that won’t interfere with the product’s active ingredients. Deionization is a physical process which uses resins that bind to and filter out the mineral salts from water. Some of the mineral ions that are removed during deionization are:
