Our regular readers and viewers are well aware of our fondness for deep, dark beers such as Stouts and Porters. We also enjoy a golden beer such as an IPA, PIlsner, or Lager. Basically, we like beer in all of it's many colors.
But what about a Golden Porter? What's that all about?
The fine folks at Deep Ellum Brewing Company of Dallas, Texas have recently created such a beer and they call it Deep Winter Golden Porter. Here's what they have to say about it...
Our Golden Porter is as confusing as driving in Texas during the winter. No dark colors or ashy flavors, but plenty of sweetness and roast. Enjoy all the cozy flavors of wintertime without any cold weather B.S. like numb toes and frozen windshields. Maybe we don't have "real" winter, but we can pretend. Whoa, is that a flurry? (ABV: 7.3%)It sounds like Deep Ellum enjoys messing with a beer lover's expectations, i.e. calling it a Porter but making it look like a Golden Ale. Ok, we'll bite (or in this case, we'll drink)!
