Dealing with Lily's Bs

By Thelazzyreader @thelazzyreader
I've got that much left
I've reached a point where I am so annoyed, I am stagnant with my progress. I'm at a section of the book where I'm starting to get exhausted and frustrated with Lily and frankly, I am tired of who Lily is. To be consumed with money and luxury is common but to endeavor to attain it at all costs, even to the point of rendering one self homeless, is purely idiotic.
Also, she seems to be making bad decision after decision and I'm just tired of it. Remember when I said she seemed interesting and tactful? Nah, she sucks.
I understand that she wants security and in that time where women were not allowed to be independent, it was often necessary. It's why she's endeavoring to worm her way back into high society, but come on.  This is starting to get silly. Even when her instincts are telling her to thread carefully, she makes the most reckless move. She's considering marrying Rosedale even though he is clearly a bad character.
And it's not like she hasn't been presented with suitors who could have easily provided her with a comfortable life (I really wish she would have gone with Selden, their love was extremely unique).

But no, right now she's trying to decide if she wants to blackmail Bertha Dorset, while trying to save face and keep up with the Joneses ( I'm on page 276). It's very clear to her that it's a bad idea but still, she is most likely going to do it. 29 years old and she knows nothing.
Basically this is the reason why I'm procrastinating when I have just over 100 pages left. Damn.
Comment below I'm curious to know what you think of Lily. Don't be stingy with your thoughts.
