Dead Heart Bloom Release Enigmatic New Track [premiere]

“Montreal”, one of the ten new tracks soon to be released by NYC’s own Dead Heart Bloom, is pretty enigmatic. The track begins dark and simple with a guitar and a drum beat. Soon, these basic elements are joined by Boris Skalsky’s deep vocals to create something clear, forceful and slightly brooding. After 45 seconds of this magic, though, there’s a sea change, and “Montreal” bursts into an animated, synth driven chorus. Produced by Mercury Rev’s Carlos Anthony Molina, this track highlights Dead Heart Bloom’s ability to create powerful melodies and catchy hooks, then shape them into surprising, incredibly listenable music. So, if this has piqued your interest (and really, how could it not?) you’re in luck: Dead Heart Bloom will be playing this and other new material at Stage 2 at Rockwood Music Hall (the larger room) on July 17th!
