Even the typical best friend vs new stranger ones still work for me. Love triangles don’t bother me as much as they seem to bother other people.
Love Triangles That Worked: Jackson. Evangeline. Death. The Arcana Chronicles by Kresley Cole Warner. Juliette. Adam. Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi Ian. Melanie. Jared. (Wanda)The Host by Stephenie Meyer Jace. Clary. Simon. The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare Ky. Cassia. Xander. The Matched series by Ally Condie Love Triangles That Didn’t Work: Shay. Calla. Ren. Nightshade series by Andrea Cremer. I liked this series, but I have never hated a love interested as much as I hated Shay. Ugh. Daniel. Luce. Cam. Miles. And the guy in the last book. Fallen series by Lauren Kate. Seriously? Miles? There was a new love interest in EVERY book of the series. Way to use Love Triangle tension… Montgomery. Juliet. Edward. The Madman’s Daughter by Megan Shepherd. Ugh. Just ugh. Linden. Rhine. Gabriel. The Chemical Garden Trilogy by Lauren DeStefano. I just.. it was just weird.
