David Ellis – Tallulah SoundCloud

London born, now New York based, David Ellis intrigues and captivates with his debut single “Tallulah”. Not tagged with a genre, the song instead carries the highly specific and indicative tag “when love is caving in”. The chorus of this brooding ambient love song – “doesn’t mean much to say that I still love you / when there is an eager mind thinking the same thing” – reveals it is one to a love foregone. This swirling mixture of nostalgia, jealousy, and disappointment unfurls itself upon a remarkable sonic landscape, marked by the flickering presence of ethereal strings. Hopefully there will be more tracks swiftly added to his SoundCloud to follow up on this impressive debut! You can check David Ellis out at one of his several shows in NYC:
