I love to see one-of-a-kind aircraft, like this powerful Super Mirage displayed at the awesome Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace (National Air and Space Museum) located at the Le Bourget Airport on the outskirts of Paris. The Dassault Super Mirage 4000 was a prototype twin-engine fighter aircraft developed by Dassault from their successful Mirage 2000. Significantly larger and heavier than its single-engine counterpart, the Mirage 4000 was designed as a long-range interceptor and fighter-bomber, comparable in size to the F-15 Eagle. First flown in 1979, the Super Mirage program was ultimately cancelled due to a lack of orders, with only this one prototype ever built. This aircraft was added to the Museum collection in 1992.
