It seems that I am qualified by virtue of being a member of an NGO-NPO which is the Iligan Bloggers Society Inc., and being a student of Master in Business Management. But it looks like that my dancing talent is not good enough. It seems that it’s the only hindrance for me to joining this important event for a cause. I always have thought *sigh* that participating in the Dance 4 Peace workshop training would be rewarding as much as a great learning for such people like me who want peace and loves---PEACE.

Anyways, Dance 4 Peace is a nonprofit global peace education that engages young people through dance and creative movement to transform violence---conflict and bullying in schools. It inspires a generation of leaders and peacemakers through an innovative curriculum that promotes empathy, mediation skills, anger management and conflict resolution to instill social and emotional competencies for peace. Its vision is to ignite global social change, through the art of movement.

This noble project of the Peace & Collaborative Development Network (PCDN) is a two-day intensive and innovative peace-educating training-workshop using different methods of interactive work such as creative movement, work in small groups, experiential exercises, role playing, etc.

This training workshop aims to introduce the innovate Dance 4 Peace curriculum themes that use creative movement to convey values of empathy, ethno-linguistic understanding, respect, active listening, cooperation, mediation skills, anger management, and emotional engagement. Also, it aims to provide school administrators, teachers enough and clear understanding and experiential learning about the aforementioned new curriculum. Another is to organize a network of peace advocates in the Mindanao region. Finally, it aims to establish potential partnership between the participants’ schools or organization and Dance 4 Peace. This training-workshop invites and welcome interested individuals who are working as: educational administrators from public to private schools, Physical Education (PE) teacher, Values Education teacher, Peace Educator, Peace Advocates, active NGO/INGO workers, undergraduate and graduate students, and young professionals. Now here’s how to join.  Interested individuals may confirm your attendance by filling out an application form found in their website and send it to this email: prime@dance4peace.org before 5PM on April 16, 2012.
