Custom Fit Dress by Numari

I have plenty of issues when it comes to shopping for clothes appropriate for the workplace. It’s practically a nightmare in the dressing room to find something that is both flattering, stylish, easy to care for, and appropriate to wear to work on a regular basis. The hours that I’ve logged in the Macy’s fitting room would probably be close to a full time employee.

Thankfully, the wonderful ladies at Numari had me covered.

Numari is a wonderful company that provides custom fit clothing for ladies. Arti Anand and Komal Kushal Raj, cofounders of Numari, saw the issues with women’s wear today and created a wonderful solution: custom fit dresses. Their preview collection features ga  rments designed by Bert Keeter, a Project Runway contestant, who has designed for Halston, Holly Harp, Bill Blass, and Arnold Scaasi. The preview collection highlights Bert’s style: minimalistic, sleek silhouettes that can transition easily from day to night.

Komal graciously reached out and offered a dress for me to try on. I couldn’t wait! I had never had a dress made exactly to my specifications before, so I jumped at the idea.

I had a difficult time choosing between the Diagonal Color Block Sheath , Color Block A-Line, and the Diagonal Sheath dress.  I decided to go with the Diagonal Sheath, which is a lovely nude color with ruching up the side to flatter all body types. I got home and quickly measured myself following the helpful guide that they put out. Not only do they give instructions on what numbers they need from you, but they also recorded helpful videos to clarify any questions one might have. With a few clicks of the keyboard to enter the correct numbers, I sent off my measurements, and eagerly awaited my dress. Although nervous that something might go wrong and the dress might not fit me like I wanted, I was reassured by the fact that Numari offers custom tailoring if there’s a fit issue.

Three weeks later, I had it in my hands. The wait was well worth it. Numari had measured, cut, and sewn a dress completely for me. I slipped the dress on easily and was wow’d. The dress hit just the right length on my legs, hid my tiny wrist tattoo, and fit perfectly.

Honestly, the best part about this dress is how versatile it is. I could easily go from a breakfast meeting to drinks with some clients at the end of the day, to wearing it to a classy dinner with friends.  Here’s just a few of the looks that I put together:

I’m super happy with the dress. I’m picky and I don’t have the most typical body type, so it’s such a relief to have a very well made garment in my closet that I can wear to work or to an event.
