I usually feel pretty safe on the computer at work and I feel like we have a pretty high level of security in place since we are a law office. When I’m at home, though, it’s another story. I feel that even though I some security in place, if the hackers really wanted to, they could crush right through the gate of my so-called home security.
When I saw this product at Best Buy called CUJO, I was intrigued so I learned more about it to share with you, and here’s what I learned:
CUJO is a smart firewall for the connected home, designed to bring business-level security to the home network. This one device will secure all devices connecting to the WiFi router and it detects and blocks malicious sites, viruses, and hacks. Think of it like antivirus for your entire network. Plus, CUJO lets you control what your kids access online and keep them safe.

CUJO takes just a few minutes to get started. Plug the CUJO device into your router and follow step-by-step guide on your CUJO app. CUJO works with the following network setups:
- WiFi router
- Modem and router as separate devices
- Modem and router as one device
- Wireless extender or access point in addition to your router

CUJO analyzes your local network traffic data locally and in real time. It then sends statistics on that data to the cloud for further analysis. For your privacy as well as performance reasons, we don’t send the contents of those packets to the cloud.
If a threat or suspicious activity is detected, CUJO will tell the cloud what it has blocked so you can receive a notification on your mobile app to confirm it.

As compensation for this post, I received a CUJO smart internet firewall device as a Best Buy Blogger without cost. Unfortunately, I received the CUJO just before Hurricane Irma hit. As a Floridian, this product was the last thing on my mind at that time. After many of the folks in my area not having power for over a week, and the backed up yard work and other hurricane efforts taking place, I haven’t had an opportunity to set this up in my own home, but I do intend on adding this security to my network very shortly.
