Introducing finger foods is an amazing and exciting event during your baby’s feeding journey, especially as it kick-starts self feeding. Self-feeding helps the development of fine motor skills while also promoting an interest in different kinds of foods. And for this purpose, finger foods are your best bet!

Finger foods can be introduced after 8 months, starting with small pieces of boiled vegetables and fruits. As the baby gets accustomed to a wider variety of foods, you can also modify the finger foods accordingly. Today’s recipe is one such recipe that’s loaded with protein and an assortment of essential nutrients. Let’s check it out!

Crunchy Egg Fingers Recipe for Babies and Kids

Ingredients

  • Egg -6
  • Rice Flour -1/2 cup
  • Corn Flour -1/2 cup
  • Pepper-1/2 tsp
  • Salt – as required (avoid for babies below 1 year)
  • Oil – for deep frying
  • Whole Wheat Rusk Crumbs – 1 cup

Method

1. Take 5 eggs.

2. Add salt and pepper. Beat well.

3. Take a pan and grease it with oil.

4. Add water in idly cooker.

5. Place the pan into it.

6. Pour the egg mixture.

7. Close the lid.

8. Steam cook for 20-25 Minutes.

9. Check if it is cooked.

10. Cut it into small pieces.

11. Beat an egg and keep it aside.

12. Mix rice flour and corn flour.

13. Take the pieces one by one.

14. Dip in egg.

15. Coat the pieces with flour mixture.

16. Then again dip in egg.

17. Coat with Rusk crumbs.

18. Deep fry them till it turns Golden brown.

19. Tasty and crunchy egg fingers is ready to be served.
