Cruelty-free Spotlight: Sinivalia Face Oil

By Natalie Tamara @thetofudiaries

Somehow we’re already two weeks into September and isn’t the weather showing it? It certainly is here in Leeds that’s for sure. I don’t really want to admit to it, but with winter autumn fast approaching, my skin feels like it needs a little more love and attention. Though in the summer I use a light moisturiser in the morning and at night, lots of daylight is pretty much the only thing my skin needs; come autumn, it is still clear but can get the odd pesky dry patch.

I’ve recently been trying out an anti-ageing face oil from Sinivalia; though I don’t really buy into the idea that thirty is particularly old, I do notice these days that I can’t expect to look as fresh as I used to on days when I haven’t had enough sleep. So, it seems right to give my skin a helping hand.

It’s the first time I’ve tried a face oil as it’s easy to imagine they’re only necessary on very dry skin yet, as I’ve discovered, that’s definitely not the case. The Sinivalia face oil is surprisingly easily absorbed and as oil is better able to replenish moisture any tiny dry patches are long gone. I did get a couple of spots after the first day or two of using it, but my skin has been in great condition ever since. I only tend to use it at night and have found it works best on damp skin so you can smooth it over without pulling on the skin too much.

Sinivalia’s face oil has a lovely mild, slightly citrus scent, which is perfect for me as I’m not a fan of heavily perfumed face products. As you only need a couple of drops each time, this one bottle is almost certainly going to last all winter and beyond.

The formula is paraben-, gluten- and sulfate-free, but most importantly it’s suitable for vegans and not tested on animals. The ingredients list is refreshing short too:

  • Corylus avellana (hazel seed oil)
  • Citrullus Vulgaris (watermelon extract)
  • Simmonsia chinensis (jojoba oil)
  • Cupressus sempervivens (cypress essential oil)
  • Citrus paradise (grapefruit extract)
  • Pelargonium roseum (geranium oil)
  • Coriandrum sativum (coriander oil)

Sinivalia anti-ageing face oil is available on Amazon at £14.99 for 50ml.
