Crazy For Chromeo ...

We last wrote about Chromeo in 2011 ... and since then, it seems that they had fallen of the radar a little. Their last hit, which we were able to capture, featured Solange Knowles and was, respectively, an absolute masterpiece ... but now, a new single entitled Over Your Shoulder, is even funkier than ever and makes us wonder 'why the hell we didn't keep up with them'?!
The funk begins at 00:01. The guitars are absolutely on point and the likes of Daft Punk's latest album will pop into your head, although, if we're honest, we think this is even better. Our reason being that this is the sort of thing that they've been playing for years, they've mastered it, and every little detail is exactly what the music industry should be looking for right now!
The vocal is, despite not being the most technically advanced, one that seeps with the exact tone necessary for this to project into the mainstream!! You can't help but think that the guy singing has GOT to be one of the coolest people you'd ever meet ... even if you have absolutely no idea who he is, what he looks like, or how he got in this position in the first place.
There's absolutely no way that you can't at least nod your head to this. The fact is that, despite being in an absolutely horrendous mood, you'd consider getting up and just shaking whatever it is that your mother gave you if this burst onto the scene in the office.
There are some lyrical issues, we'll admit that. There is, in particular, a verse that begins at 2:25 that you really can listen in to ... you'll notice that some of the rhymes are questionable and, the way in which that whole part flows isn't quite the same. However, you can very easily forgive this little faux pas because, in the simplest words possible, this is fucking awesome!!
Paul.
