Craftcation 14

By Thehousethatlarsbuilt @houselarsbuilt
I've briefly mentioned my trip to Ventura, California a couple of weeks ago to attend and speak at Craftcation, and now for a bigger recap. When I was first approached to speak at it and give some workshops, I sat on it and then thought, "California in March while I'm in Utah?" No brainer. If you you're just joining me on this blog, you'll find that one of my favorite topics to talk about is the weather. Call me a snooze fest, but there's just nothing better. Perhaps it's because I'm from California and have lived in opposite climates for more than a decade now.Vitamin D is my friend and I will go to him when presented with the chance.
This picture is hilarious. I swear I'm not a diva. I was lucky enough to spend my time with Kelly Beall of Design Crush, Kelly Lanza of Studio DIY, and Brittni Melholff of Paper & StitchCraftcation is headed up by Nicole Stevenson and Delilah Snell, who are pure passion and encouragement. They are true supporters of following your passion and doing what you love and were wonderful hostesses and organizers. This is their third year of the craft conference/vacation and I dare say they shall make more of them. If you're into crafting and need a vacay, might I suggest attending one year. Go with some friends and just enjoy yourself!
I taught a paper garland workshop and did a lecture on freelancing with Michelle Ward of When I Grow Up coaching and illustrator and artist Lisa Congdon, who are both dynamic and wise and talented ladies.
Sounds like bliss, right? And then you get sick and then it throws everything off. But, I had a great time and heard a lot of great lectures. Thanks for having me!
