Europe counted Thursday morning 3 00 861 cases, for a worldwide total of 12 237 784 infections. The continent remains the most affected region in terms of number of deaths: 082 633 dead, on 626 994 recorded in the world.
Russia, the European country with the highest number of cases (795 038 for 12 892 death), the United Kingdom (267 377 case, 038 426, Spain (267 551, 28 377) and Italy (245 30, 35 082) are the four countries of the continent officially counting more than 225 00 0 cases in their territory.
These numbers of diagnosed cases, however, only reflect a fraction of the actual number of infections, with many countries using the tests only for tracing or not having sufficient resources to conduct large screening campaigns.
