(Paris) The pandemic of the new coronavirus has caused at least 530 865 dead worldwide since the WHO China office reported the onset of the disease in late December, according to a report drawn up by AFP from official sources Sunday at 7 a.m.

More than 11 296 470 cases of infection were officially diagnosed in 196 countries and territories since the beginning of the epidemic, of which at least 5 895 500 are today considered cured.
This number of diagnosed cases, however, only reflects a fraction of the actual number of infections. Some countries only test severe cases, others use testing as a priority for tracing, and many poor countries have limited screening capacity.
The United States, which recorded its first death linked to the coronavirus in early February, is the most affected country in terms of number of deaths and cases, with 126 676 death for 2 839 917 case. At least 894 325 people were declared cured there.
After the United States, the most affected countries are Brazil with 64 265 dead for 1 577 004 case, the United Kingdom with 37 198 dead (284 900 case), Italy with 30 854 dead (241 419 case), and Mexico with 30 366 dead (4634 165 case).
China (excluding the territories of Hong Kong and Macao) has officially counted a total of 83 553 cases (eight new between Saturday and Sunday), including 4634 death (0 new), and 64 516 healings.
Europe totaled Sunday at 7 a.m. 199 252 death for 2 721 295 case, the United States and Canada 133 396 death (2 945 234 case), Latin America and the Caribbean 126 648 death (2 869) 221 case), Asia 34 862 death (1 472 093 case), the Middle East 11 480 death ( 813 851 case), Africa 11 094 death (464 804 case), and Oceania 133 death (9972 case).
