True Blood’s Arlene, Carrie Preston has appeared on tv show, “The Good Wife” for a few seasons as Elsbeth Tascioni, a quirky-but-brilliant attorney. The role has not only won her lots of praise and popularity, but she has also won an Emmy for her portrayal. So, now there is rumor of a possible “spin off” since not only is Carrie character portrayal enormously popular, but recently her character has joined with Rayna Hecht (Jill Hennessy) to form their own law firm. With Preston’s popularity among “Good Wife” fans and Hennessy’s fanbases from her time on “Law & Order” and “Crossing Jordan,” the pairing seems ripe for a spinoff, which Preston says she would be all for.
“That would be fun, lots of people have expressed their interest in some kind of a spinoff,” says Preston. “I’m very flattered by that. No one who has the authority to actually do that has spoken to me about it, but I like to think that the fans imagine scenes between Elsbeth and all of her various relationships. It would be fun to see her off on her own.”
Last night saw Preston wrap her two-episode arc for this fall on “The Good Wife,” but she adds that hopefully she’ll appear again in Season 6.
“I have my fingers crossed that they’ll have more for me. So far these are the only two. But this season, they’ve only shot about half of the episodes, so maybe there will be another moment. I would jump at the chance,” says Preston.
Let us know what you think; should Carrie’s Elsbeth Tascioni get a spin off?
