Miguel Cotto certainly didn’t roll over and die in his pay-per-view bout on HBO against Floyd Mayweather, as the two beat one another senseless in the Saturday night match, however, Money maintained his undefeated record as he won by unanimous decision. Mayweather won the fight based on official scores of 117-11, 118-110, and 117-111.
Regardless of the official decision, the crowd conveyed their displeasure with the results as they conveyed their support for the underdog’s impressive effort.
Cotto was the first man to truly put Floyd’s power to the test for any sustained duration of time since his 2002 fights with Jose Luis Castillo. He managed to trap Pretty Boy against the ropes for a significant amount of time while landing blows to the head significant enough to draw blood from the WBC Welterweight Champion.
