You may not know much about Corning or Gorilla Glass, but if you take a look at the display of your smartphone or tablet you may find this technology. Yes, Gorilla Glass is responsible for protecting your valuable smartphone screen from scratches. This technology evolved throughout the past few years and now Corning is preparing to unveil a much stronger and more scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 3 technology at the upcoming CES 2013 event.

According to the company, Gorilla Glass 3 has been improved to protect smartphone and tablet screens with a new feature called Native Damage Resistance (NDR). Corning claims that this new version of Gorilla Glass is three times stronger than the Gorilla Glass 2, which was introduced in last year with a very thin design.

Without doubt, new Gorilla Glass 3 will be used in all the upcoming major devices including Apple’s next-gen iPhone, iPad and other Android and Windows devices as well.

More details about Gorilla Glass 3 will be revealed next week at CES 2013.
