Let it be said: no good film (or series) about the mafia without its scene of cooking, restaurant, or family meal. We don't mess with food. It's sacred, as much as the family! It is not Martin Scorsese who will say the opposite, he who in particular offered us a memorable meal scene between Ray Liotta, Robert de Niro and Joe Pesci at his mom's house, waking up in the middle of the night. The scene takes place shortly after the assassination attempt on Don (Marlon Brando). Sonny Corleone (James Caan) takes over the reins of the family while things settle down. His younger brother Michael (Al Pacino) talks to Peter Clemenza, who is busy cooking a delicious tomato sauce for his meatballs. And explain the secrets of his recipe to him, "just in case he has to cook for 20 types one day". Obviously a double meaning. You can actually see it as a delicious cooking recipe. But also as a metaphor for the future of Michael Corleone, since as a wise man, Clemenza knows that one day he will in turn be in charge of the family. The recipe for tomato sauce - sausage and meatballs

    300g peeled tomatoes with juice

    Cut the sausages into rings.
    Peel the garlic and chop it.
    In a saucepan over medium heat, heat the olive oil.
    Add the garlic and sauté for a few minutes, without letting it toast.
    Add the tomatoes and the concentrate.
    Simmer 5 minutes, stirring.
    Add the sausages and meatballs, the wine and then the sugar.
    Reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Serve hot or store in a sterilized jar!
