The fastest single-engined jet ever (1,544 mph in 1959), the Delta Dart was a Cold War interceptor designed to defend the U.S. homeland from enemy bombers. First flown in 1956, the type was not retired until 1988 when many were converted into QF-106 target drones. This aircraft was restored by the Museum in 2004.  Nikon D7000 w/18-200 mm, processed with Aperture.
