The first thing that comes to mind when you say Conti's is their Mango Bravo cake. No one can blame them because it's really good. A great proof is that almost all the cakes I see at parties and surprise birthday celebrations are from Conti's.
But honestly, it's been a while since I dined at their restaurant. Conti's do offer several mouth-watering dishes. So for my Abuelita's birthday, I decided to treat her at Conti's Bakeshop & Restaurant.
The Restaurant
There are actually two Conti's Bakeshop & Restaurants near us but the SM North EDSA branch has easier access. Whether you have a car or not, you won't get tired from walking so many flights of stairs because it's located on the ground floor of The Block. Plus, it's near the mall entrance as well as the escalator and elevator.
However, you have to take note of all the restaurant's design in this area. Yes, not just Conti's but all restaurants located in this area do not have a glass wall separating them from the mall corridor. This means that you will be hearing and seeing people pass by. But if there are still seats available at the inner part of the restaurant, then that won't be a problem.
Sadly, we were there for dinner so we sat in the outer area. It was quite noisy and distracting, to be honest. Good thing, the dinner was great.
The Food
We ordered the following:
KIMCHI RICE WITH BEEF TAPA STRIPS
Homemade beef tapa strips served with kimchi rice, eggs and atchara (P240)
NEW ZEALAND MUSSELS & MUSHROOM PASTA
Linguine noodles tossed in sautéed New Zealand mussels, mushroom, and garlic, with creamy white sauce (P250)
FISH & CHIPS (with Honey Mustard Sauce)
Breaded fish fillet served with macaroni salad and fresh potato fries (P325)
And of course, a slice of Almond Choco Sansrival and Mango Bravo.
The cakes are delish but Mango Bravo really is special. For the dishes, I have to say our favourite is the New Zealand Mussels & Mushroom pasta. It was creamy and full of flavours giving you satisfaction. The Kimchi Rice with Beef Tapa Strips was good, too. It just needs to be a bit more tender. And lastly, the Fish & Chips. It's typical but in a good way.
The question now is, will we dine again? Sure, why not! But maybe in a different branch that has glass walls so it's not distracting to eat. Plus, I would like to try their other delightful meals and delectable dishes (They gave those names. Check their menu). 🙂
Happy eating!
