This past Friday at Music Hall of Williamsburg, Kirin J. Callinan opened the night with a cast of cold-blooded music machines, as he made love to his guitar the only way he knew how. His intensity was matched by his more technical approach, and Callinan left the crowd wondering why he wasn’t popular in the late 80s. Connan Mockasin headlined a packed house with a carefree and slow paced set that eventually led to a fifteen person, psychedelic jam session. Those in attendance were treated to not only a dreamy wave of layered sound but also a love-in type spectacle. The best part of the concert was the bands improvisational approach, which drew in the audience and made them feel more a part of the show.
