But the newest survey on Congress by Public Policy Polling makes that 11% look good. The PPP survey, conducted between October 4th and 6th of 502 registered voters across the nation (with a 4.4 point margin of error) measured congressional approval at only 8% among the general public. It seems that the public is disgusted with Congress right now -- no surprise since they have shut down the government.
But the folks at Public Policy Polling had a bit of fun with this survey. For the second year, they asked the poll's respondents to compare Congress to a number of things that are generally disliked by most people. Here are some of those comparisons -- and they do show just how low an opinion of Congress that many people have. The question is "Which do you have a higher opinion of?" --

To be fair, the survey did find a few things with an even lower opinion than Congress -- such as Charles Manson, Vladimir Putin, Twerking, Lindsey Lohan, Syria, Ebola virus, Heroin, Miley Cyrus, and Anthony Weiner. I guess Congress hasn't yet reached rock bottom -- but they do seem to be trying hard to get there.
