In the wake of the Peoples Climate March, Wall Street Activist’s prepare for another round of peaceful civil disobedience against the Capitalist Swine of Wall Street.
With planned and advertised blockades, sit-ins, and shut downs of the financial district of New York on September 22nd 2014, there will be a natural expectation of a very high police presence and many arrest as activist put their bodies on the line. This home of the Wall Street Looters is seen as the home of “the institutions that are profiting from the climate crisis” Organizers and participants will not be intimidated and are quoted in saying “there is no time to waste – Wall Street must be transformed” floodwallstreet.net (Bail Fund)
Wearing blue to represent the sea that surrounds us, we rise to the steps of the NY Stock Exchange at 12:00 pm, flooding the area with our bodies in a massive sit-in – a collective act of nonviolent civil disobedience – to confront the system that both causes and profits from the crisis that is threatening humanity.
