An auto industry supplier named TRW is now working on this new project to bring external airbags to luxury cars. Let’s face it, some luxury cars out there actually worth more than human lives, so I guess it’s worth saving, right?
According to Digital Trends, TRW says that these airbags are capable of opening up moments before the crash to save the car from damages. Although from the looks of this, it could make it harder for the passengers to get out of the vehicle in an emergency with all those airbags around the car.

I think Volvo will definitely be interested in this since they already have a project to include pedestrian airbags on cars to save people from accidents. I wonder if this would make cars float in the water. I guess we will get to find out soon because the company plans to launch the project by 2020.
