Comic Con Wrap-Up Report: Friday

By Appraisingpages @appraisjngpages

Compared to my crazy Thursday with the Paranormal Passion Panel and Chuck Palahniuk, Friday was much more tame. I didn’t make it to the fan fiction panel but I did go to the Science Fiction That Will Change Your Life panel (one of my favorites from last year) and it did not disappoint!!

Here were their recommendations (all links go to the book’s Goodreads page or movie’s/television show’s IMDb page):

Odds Against Tomorrow by Nathaniel Rich

The Best of All Possible Worlds by Karen Lords

Tenth of December by George Saunders

Upstream Color

Orphan Black

The Unwinding: An Inner History of the New America by George Packer

Robot and Frank

The Legend of Korra

Hydrogen Sonata by Ian Banks

11/22/63 by Stephen King

Elysium

Gravity

Sleep of Reason

Scatter, Adapt, and Remember by Annalee Newitz (the moderator!)

Winter’s Tale by Mark Helprin

Let me tell you that the recommendations of this panel will NOT disappoint, I’ve added them all to my to-watch/to-read list.

I also bought and panelist had Austin Grossman sign a copy of You, I can’t wait to start it:

What science fiction has changed your life? Have you read or seen any of these titles?
