THE SHOWS
I was out celebrating a friends birthday last night and only had time for I Am Jazz which I'm pretty sure nobody watches but me. I've said before how obsessed with Jazz and her family I am. It was nice, for a change, to see a little focus on Jazz's brother Sander, who was a pretty talented high school football player until a leg injury took him out of the game for good. His Mom was with Jazz in NY when he was injured and he obviously had some strong feelings about her not being there for him...again. Jazz's needs seem to be the priority. Nice to see real, honest, parent/child communication. Nobody yelled, nobody offended, nobody cursed or used profanity just a real conversation where both parties ended up being heard, understood, and forgiven. I know none of you guys watch this one, but it's pretty compelling and one of the most REAL reality shows out there at the moment.
Comedians in Cars is back today. I already watched the first episode of the new season if that's what we are calling it. I felt nothing at all about Jim Gaffigan prior to watching his ride with Jerry. I enjoyed getting to know a bit more about him. I didn't know he wasn't gay, I didn't know he was married with a bunch of kids and lives in NYC. I didn't know he's from Indiana and...I didn't know anything about his comedy. Would I go buy a ticket to see him perform now that I do? Nah, don't think so, but I probably wouldn't automatically delete Fallon or Seth when I see he's making an appearance. So. I guess I'd call that progress or success. Here's the episode: http://comediansincarsgettingcoffee.com/jim-gaffigan-stick-around-for-the-pope
THE OTHER STUFF
-Les Moonves took care of some VERY important business yesterday, no...he didn't hit Barney's and pick up some things for Julie's big BB premiere next week. He stayed in the office and signed The Grammy's to CBS for another 10 years. I'd say that's a decent reason for NOT picking Julie up a cool pair of shoes.
-Turner launched their new New Super Deluxe online comedy net on YouTube. I just checked it out and the first video I watched did get me laughing, but I have a weird sense of humor. Here you go...let me know if you laughed or were grossed out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ku8egC8GhSs
-SNL's on hiatus for the Summer, so what to watch in it's place other than Big Brother All Access? CW's got 8 new comedians and 8 weeks of MadTV starting at the end of July so maybe that'll fill the gap? MadTV's not on at 1130 and it's not on Saturday's but just DVR it and wait til Saturday to make it feel right. Or, forget all about it and just wait til the Fall until SNL comes back? You're call.
