I think HGTV is in a fruit-color frame of mind. Why? Well last month they chose Lemon Zest as their January color of the month and for February they chose Pink Grapefruit. This color was chosen because, according to HGTV blogger Liz Gray, “We love how this color bridges the gap between winter and spring.” Also, HGTV special-projects editor Marianne Canada states “I like that it’s a winter fruit, but the color feels fresh and springy.” As for me, I just like it because it’s pink! I don’t think there’s anyone who can resist that color, as it brings to mind a bright, sunny summer day. Also, I love the fruit it’s named after. It’s much sweeter and prettier than a white grapefruit, and I often use it instead of a lemon when making salad dressings or enhancing the flavor of fish. Sherwin-Williams has created some pretty cool colors that are a great complement to Pink Grapefruit. These are just a small sampling of color matches.
Here we can see some of these Sherwin-Williams color suggestions in this bed linen ensemble.
Here we see some of these colors combined in a living room.
I’ve put together some color inspiration images to help you get ideas of how this lovely shade of pink can work in your home. It’s refreshing with yellow, white and green.
It’s quite lovely as an armchair fabric covering.
It can make a statement as an accessory.

What do you think of HGTV’s color of the month for February? I love it! To me, this shade of pink is more eye-catching than the softer, subtler shades. It brightens up a room beautifully when used with colors that tone it down.
