Collage of Iconic Buildings of Chennai

On a friend (through a common friend) known to me for some years, knew he draws sketches – and exceptionally good ones, just out of passion !

From school days, have heard of a proverb :  ‘tell me of your friends and I will tell you who you are !” – not true of its origin but today doubt its correctness.

A web search indicates that the  earliest close match known refers to  influential Spanish novel “Don Quixote” by Miguel de Cervantes with the Spanish title - “Ingenioso Cavallero Don Qvixote de la Mancha” (“Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote de la Mancha”).   saying was spoken by Sancho Panza who was the faithful servant and squire of the main character Don Quixote.

Now on to Mohana Krishnan who worked in Prasad Labs, started out his life  as a Photographer for Inside Outside, an interior design magazine of Business India Group, and is multi-talented including drawing.  A couple of days back there was an article in The Hindu titled - Chennai artist captures city’s iconic buildings in a collage for Madras Week

The artwork featured showcases  Chennai through the years by featuring 49 iconic buildings that the city is home to.  Mohan Krishnan, a Chennai-born artist, celebrates Madras Week this year by capturing the essence of the city in a collage jostling with Chennai’s most iconic buildings. Set against a yellow background, the A2 size collage print on 175gsm paper, titled Chennai Shining, harmonically combines both Madras and Chennai. Krishnan says, "The yellow background represents the hot and shining weather here. In the collage, I have included a total of 49 places such as Marina beach, Chepauk Stadium, Kapaleeshwarar Temple, St. Andrew's Church in Egmore, Roxy Theater (demolished), the airport, Madras University, Madras Port, Light House and LIC building: basically, showing Chennai through times.".. .. .. ..

Can call him a friend but for sure I cannot draw even a single straight line .. .. and here is a photo taken by me of Mohan and his wife.
