Story: Cold Wallet starts when a social media fad leaves Billy (Castillo) and others broke when their cryptocurrency crashes. He realises he has lost everything, and he faces an uncertain future until a stranger offers him a chance to redeem what he lost.
Billy teams up with his friend Dom (Cavalero) and Eva (Diaz) to get revenge on Charles Hegel (Brener). They want justice and want their money back, waiting for their time to strike. However, the truth leads to a bigger reveal of what is happening.
Verdict on Cold Wallet
Cold Wallet is a thriller following a group of disgruntled crypto investors who go in search of revenge. They locate the person who ran the system and want to get their money back. However, their plan doesn’t go the way they imagined, leading them to face a host of problems in their plan for revenge.
This movie plays into the modern crypto scams costing people everything. It shows how far people would go for revenge, which can cause even more lasting effects. The movie leans into comedy more often, as it seems to make the three hapless criminals try to get what they want back. In the end, it plays everything well, without really doing anything we haven’t seen before.
Final Thoughts – Cold Wallet is a by-the-book thriller, with a warning about crypto.
