Second day at Tuaro Maohi games: it is time for coconut splits. Coconut de-husking is a long lived sport across whole Polynesia and Pacific Ocean
High mana (vital energy) is necessary to split 50 coconuts under the scorching sun. Tiki statues are placed in front of the competition as good omen.
The axes always stop working before the razor
Finally, rope sacks are filled up with white coco pulp
Great joy for the winning team, traditional sports are strongly supported by thousands of representatives from every Pacific island. Coco pulps are then used for animal food processing, nothing is wasted.
