Clothing for Busty Women

Shirt from Campbell and Kate

Hi, Imogen.
After reading all the articles on your blog that I possibly can over the last two months, I think I’m an X shape. According to many articles, I look best in A-line skirts. However, the problem that I always have with A-line skirts is what shirt to wear with them. Because I wear a 32DD bra, I feel like I look awkward when I tuck most shirts in; however, if I wear most shirts un-tucked, my waist is lost altogether. (Unsurprisingly I have a difficult time finding shirts that fit me in the bust and waist at the same time.) Do you have any suggestions for how to avoid these problems?
Whether you have time to answer my question or not, I think you’re amazing. You didn’t have to put all this information on the internet so that some random person in Wisconsin could figure out how to dress, but you did, and I am very thankful.

I have in the past had shirts altered to fit – taken the sleeve up and in, added extra darts to the body so that the bust fits and the buttons don’t gape and the rest of the shirt isn’t too voluminous.

When you have a large bust, if you buy shirts to fit them from regular ranges you’ll find the shoulders are too wide and the waist too wide, but here are some specialist retailers who make clothes for larger busts:

Campbell and Kate

Carissa Rose

Pepperberry

Women with Boobs

Eshakti

Glamorosa

Hour Shape

Treasured Chest

The Big Bar Bra

Odyl

Rebecca and Drew

Moi Meme

Have you found any great resources for clothes that fit a larger bust?  Please share in the comments your experiences too of buying from any of these suppliers.
