For the duration of the world's greatest tennis tournament – this year from 24th June to the 7th July – CLOSE OF PLAY will bring you a Wimbledon fact of the day. (The London Nightly Photoblog will return on the 8th July…weather permitting!)
Any color you like as long as it’s white… It is a Wimbledon tradition that the players compete in white. Coloured piping or trim is permissible, but the predominant color of player’s clothing must be white. New outfits must be checked with an official before being worn on court. Wimbledon is the only Grand Slam to have a dress code.
