Clear Skies Means Good Migration? Hopefully!

REGIONAL OVERVIEW

Looking at the radar from last night showed good migration along the west coast of California, central Arizona, and near Lake Havasu City, Arizona. This regional overview was from 0400 Pacific Time.

LOWER COLORADO RIVER  VALLEY

Again today, it appeared as though birds moved off of the Sea of Cortez and headed West into California near Yuma, AZ. There appeared to be good migration near Lake Havasu City around 0100. This is the time that birds are descending from their night flight and could potentially hold refuge for the day in a riparian zone or habitat creation site along the river North of Lake Havasu City.

I will be out doing a bird survey this morning and will report back on any new arrivals that I find.
