Circa Waves – So Long

Posted on the 17 September 2014 by Jessedeanlewis

I’ll always remember that time when Liverpoool four piece Circa Waves visited Sydney. It was only a bit over a month ago now, but about one song in, frontman Kieran Shuddal says to the crowd, “We came halfway across the world for you guys, come in a little closer for us”. Remember that time, boys. Because the latest single So Long is very appropriately named; and you can definitely say “So Long” to nights like that – even if the fault did lie with an obvious Splendour In The Grass related fatigue.

The latest single is a slosh of their signature fast paced thrash-pop, complete with faint hooks and pop tricks. In traditional British style, both the film clip and the track insist upon that beautiful “Man, we’re just here for the music” vibe. Alongside the new video being released earlier in the month, they’ve been touring the shit out of their set at every festival you could name ahead of a new, unnamed album, hopefully coming very soon. It follows their hits, Young Chasers and Stuck In My Teeth, which have been rocking Triple J airwaves for the early part of 2014.
