Cineworld Secret Screening 7 – Possible Films?

Posted on the 02 August 2023 by Caz @LetsGoToTheMov7

Cineworld have had quite a few Secret Screenings in the past few months, I haven’t been able to attend them for different reasons and hadn’t been organised enough for blog posts with potential films that it could be. Also with the changes from Unlimited Secret Screening to Secret Screening this therefore messed up my blog posts with the numbers, as they kinda started again. But never mind!

Date: Monday 14th August 2023
Time: 7:30pm

Just a reminder before attempting to guess potential films that the 15 rating and 90 minutes time listed on the website does not mean that it will be that rating or that length! They have to put a 15 rating incase of course it is a 15 film, so basically we can rule out 18 rated films (not that we get many of them these days). In the past animated films which have had a PG rating have been Secret Screenings. Here is a recap of the first 10 original Secret Screening films.

Anyway moving on here are my potential picks for this secret screening on Monday 14th August 2023.

Strays (18th August) – rating 15
Wouldn’t be the biggest of previews but it is a talking dog film that just happens to be rated 15, so should certainly have some comedy value. Jamie Foxx and Will Ferrell leading the voices of the dogs.

The Dive (25th August) – rating 15
This looks like the perfect time of film for a secret screening, not too big and the type that would want people talking about it a couple of weeks before the release. Two sisters go diving in a lovely location, with one getting struck by a rock and getting trapped. I’d be happy with this one!

The Blackening (25th August) – rating 15
Can seven black friends who go away camping for the weekend manage to survive with their street smarts and knowledge of horror movies help them stay alive? A horror comedy would always be an ok choice wouldn’t it for a secret screening.

Sound of Freedom (1st September) – rating 12A?
A rather heavy and difficult topic of a true story a former government agent turned vigilante who embarks on a mission to save children from sec traffickers.

Past Lives (8th September) – rating 12A
A Korean/English film which quite frankly sounds rather lovely! Which sees two childhood friends reconnect twenty years later when they are reunited for one fateful week. Would be an amazingly bold and wonderful choice for this film to be the secret screening.

Bolan’s Shoes (15th September) – rating?
I am such a huge T.Rex fan and including this film because I have just stumbled across it when looking at potential films for the list and this would be so wonderful. A journey through the mania to what would have been Marc Bolan’s 75th birthday.

Which film do you think it will be and what are you hoping for?
