CHVRCHES dazzled fans last Wednesday night at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre. Led by front woman, Lauren Mayberry, this Scottish three piece is known for their refreshing brand of synthpop with dance-y hits such as “Gun” and “Mother We Share”. Wednesday’s show gave fans a seventeen song set that weaved seamlessly through the band’s two albums: The Bones of What You Believe and Every Open Eye.

The night kicked off with openers, Mansionair, an Australian trio with sound stylings similar to the pop version of alt-J — needless to say, there were no complains. Shortly after Masionair left the stage, the crowd filled the floor, the lights dimmed and CHVRCHES took the stage. The opening songs included “Never Ending Circles” followed by “We Sink” and “Keep You On My Side”. After finding a small break in the set to speak to the crowd, Mayberry joked that after releasing a second album, the band now has enough material to play longer than forty five minutes. However, judging from the crowd’s response after each song, it became evident that no matter the duration, these fans would have been there either way. The set continued with a sonic blur of dance-worthy tunes and an amazing light show complete with twelve foot LED light panels backing the band. CHVRCHES wrapped up the night with “Afterglow” and “The Mother We Share” as the encore set.
