Last week, the RiNo neighborhood welcomed Oskar Blues Fooderies first Denver outpost—CHUBurger RiNo and Hotbox Roasters CBD (coffee, beer, doughnuts) Café, which is the coffee roaster’s first retail location, at 3490 Larimer Street.

I got the chance to stop in for a media event the night before the official opening, and wow—both places are packed with an unbelievable amount of delicious food and beer. Let’s begin with the beer. CHUBurger has 30 beers on tap. During my visit they had approximately 10 Oskar Blues drafts while the rest of the taps were those of other local breweries like Call to Arms, Hogshead, Odd 13, River North, Ska, Bootstrap, Crooked Stave, and more. They even had some national favorites like Cigar City and Perrin. I had a Barrel Aged Ten Fidy Russian Imperial Stout, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes dark beers.

Burger lovers: this place is your heaven. CHUBurger has so many types of burgers! There are 8 different options on the menu as well as a “build your own” with choice of patty: beef, Berkshire pork, chicken, turkey, veggie (falafel), bison, salmon, hawg dog, or grilled cheese. Additionally, you’ll find fish n’ chips, salads, fries, wings, shakes, floats—pretty much everything you could want. They even have a kids’ menu too.

Next door to CHUBurger is Hotbox Roasters: premium fair-trade, craft coffees, that are roasted locally and packaged using reusable and recyclable cans. The café is also serving its new Nitro Cold Brew Coffee, coffee drinks, and coffee-infused Oskar Blues beers along with 13 flavors of homemade doughnuts, fried hand pies (a secret recipe from Oskar Blues Founder Dale Katechis’ mom, YaYa) and more. Hotbox Roasters was launched by Oskar Blues in 2015. I first discovered them when I drank Oskar Blues’ Hotbox Coffee Porter. From that moment on I was hooked; it’s a very high quality coffee that is available in several different varieties, both single origins as well as blends. One of my preferred flavors is the Soulshine blend: vanilla butter, crazy raisins, and crystal clean nectarines.

I’m personally so excited to have CHUBurger and Hotbox Roasters join the RiNo neighborhood. They are a welcome addition to the community and both offer quality food and beverages at a reasonable price. They are open and ready to serve you. Stop by today!
