Christmas Magnets

By Vixenmade @vixenMade
My daughter has been bugging me for more magnets.  I don't know about you but my kids go through magnets like crazy.  They go missing, get trashed, get damaged.. or perhaps they hoard them.
I don't know but the kids love to decorate the fridge with their artwork.  And since I love it, too, I promised her we'd make some.  And her request was 'Christmas magnets'.
So I delivered!

I love getting rid of scraps.. and that's what I did with these!
First off, I received a bunch of baggies of wood shapes and pieces from my hubby's grandmother awhile back.  They're nice and sturdy for a magnet so they worked perfectly.  You can find these at most craft stores and sometimes the dollar stores have them, too.

I chose the mittens, triangles and star for these.  I also gathered my scraps of felt and ribbons and embellishments.

For the Christmas trees, I used a green felt and traced the triangles onto them.

Trace and cut all your shapes with the colors you like.

Then glue the felt onto the wood pieces with hot glue.

Then start your decorating!  I let my kids pick out most of the decorations to add to all the magnets.  But of course, I did the gluing.

I used ribbons, trims and ric rac for the trees and mittens.  And also some scrap white felt for one of the mittens.. they had to have a Santa mitten!

For the star, it needed some glitter.  I used spray adhesive and sprinkled on the glitter, then let dry for a few minutes.

I also had a ton of these sequins which worked perfectly for the tree 'ornaments'.

And pearl embellishments, too.

So purdy..

For the magnet.  I used a roll of self adhesive stuff from the dollar store.

Since the adhesion probably wouldn't live up to my kids heavy use, I used hot glue to stick it on.

Done, and done!

Great for their little fingers!

And the kids love the festive magnets for their (more often than not) festive artwork!

The below picture is of baby Jesus and his mommy.  Cute!

Have fun!!
