Australia have added seamers Gurinder Sandhu and Kane Richardson to their squad for the Carlton Mid Tri-Series against England and India. From Jan 16, the Tri Nation ODI series is to begin.  Unlike the earlier versions, this is short – India plays Australia on 18th and 26th; England on 20th  & 30th – finals is on 1st Feb 2015.  A tall fast bowler who stands 194 centimetres,Gurinder Sandhu, 21 earlier played in U19 WC 2012 , is uncapped while Richardson played the last of his eight one-day internationals in November. The pair are not part of the 15-man World Cup squad but are on hand for the first part of the preparatory series to give the likes of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Johnson the chance to rest.  Sandhu was born in Australia to Indian parents who moved from Punjab to Sydney in the 1980s, and his father Iqbal's job is a taxi driver. Days later, the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, 11th  ICC Cricket World Cup is scheduled from 14th Feb to 29th Mar -  jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand in 14 venues.  Australia is to stage 26 and New Zealand 23.   India are the defending champions, having won the tournament in 2011. Australia has selected Michael Clarke though he would not be fit for the inaugural match.   Clarke has until Australia's second World Cup match against Bangladesh on February 21 to demonstrate his readiness. Named to lead Australia's 15-man squad, Clarke will be replaced in the group if he has not fully recovered by that time. George Bailey has been retained as Clarke's deputy and the man who will captain the side should Clarke be ruled out, despite the rise of Steven Smith to the Test vice-captaincy. After  hammering a match-winning 90 that helped West Indies win the Twenty20 series against South Africa, Chris Gayle launched a scathing attack on the West Indies Cricket Board and the Clive Lloyd-led selection panel for dropping the senior pair of Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard from the ODI series and the World Cup. Repeatedly labelling the move as "ridiculous", Gayle felt it was a case of "victimisation" against the two Trinidadian allrounders. On Saturday, the WICB announced the 15-man World Cup squad to be led by Jason Holder with Marlon Samuels as vice-captain. Sachin Tendulkar has been named as the 2015 Cricket World Cup Ambassador by the ICC for the second time, after 2011 Cricket World Cup where he was the official event ambassador. With regards – S.
